Hope Pregnancy Center of New Jersey
In 1985 The Crises Pregnancy Services (CPS) of Cape May Court House, also known as Living Alternatives, was started by members of Vineyard Fellowship. Life Guard of Ocean City was formed in 1995. These two works, under the non-profit New Jersey public corporation of LifeGuard, Inc., were legally merged in the summer of 1998. In the spring of 1999 both ministries were renamed Hope Pregnancy Center.
Hope Pregnancy Center is a ministry comprised of board members who view the abortion question from a biblical perspective. They see the work as an oppotunity to minister to young women and girls involved in crisis pregnancies and to demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ through biblical counseling and practical assistance. Hope, as did its predecessors, seeks its financial support from area churches and draws its board members from the local church body.
Hope Pregnancy Center currently maintains two offices which serve Cape May and Atlantic counties. The Board of Trustees, which meets bimonthly, is responsible for establishing the ministry's direction, for maintaining its financial health, and for providing oversight of the small paid staff and various volunteers. |
